It's been a long while...

First things first, there will be a new addition to the Nudist family. Her name is Kazumi, meaning harmonious beauty. We will call her Zumi for short. She is a Shiba Inu. We pick her up the Friday after Thanksgiving. She will grow to be 20 lbs and around 15-16 inches long.

For Halloween, Nate and I went as Tony and Elivra from Scarface. It was a lot of fun. Got into two bar fights, drank a lot, ate IHOP at 2 a.m., and passed out in our gross hotel room. Can't wait till next year.

I went to Stitches Easy 2008 in Baltimore, MD where my mom's shop had a booth, Strings N' Things. I picked up some great yarn there:

Solo - 1/2 lb apprx 500 yrds - Hot Pink and Yellow

Strings N Things acrylic mohair blend - Denim

Coloratura Yarns - I call it Bruise

Updates

Haven't updated in a long time! Busy busy busy. Yesterday was my birthday. Nate threw me a surprise party on Friday. It was soo much fun and he took me to dinner. Hibachi restaurant was great!

Nate's parents gave me this amazing little pink and green fairy. I love it!

About a month ago, Milda came to visit while bringing her sister to the airport. Soo much fun!

Whew!

Haven't posted all week! It has been a little crazy. Working to try and get Baby Coats sweater done and it hasn't progressed because I've been helping fiance with the garage organization. I have the two front pieces done and some of the back.

I also sculpted my first skull for a test fairy. I just wanted to try and see if I could even make something out of clay before I went and bought a ton of supplies.

I think I've Lost My Head

The doctor has been running me around this week. Every 10 minutes, "Katie! Have you finished that yet?" But not only that, about every 15 minutes he gives me a new project. So, as you can tell, I am running a little rampid.

More to post tomorrow...

Quiet Night At Home

Nate and I spent quiet time at home last night. I made spaghetti & meatballs for dinner. We watched TMZ while we ate... that show cracks me up. Some of the things they catch celebrities doing, it is hysterical.

Heidi makes me want to shove my head in an oven, though. That girl is such an airhead. I love it. Cute outfit though...

I just about finished up my crochet hook holder last night... until I ran out of yarn just finishing up the button tab closure. Oh well, I'll just finish it with another yarn.

The Weekend is Not Long Enough

Last week just dragged on, then by the time the weekend came... it was over before I even knew it. I cleaned all day Saturday to get our house in order after our recent move. I am loving our new appartment, though.

I worked on two crochet projects yesterday during football.

Monty now has a head, a body, and one almost completed arm. But I ran out of yarn. So he'll be hibernating until I can find some more.

I also worked on my crochet needle holder. This is much smoother to work on. I only have about 25% left to finish it up. I love the yarn... very cute!

The Steelers had a rough game yesterday. Hopefully they'll be back to winning next week.

HARRRRR

Today is National Talk Like a Pirate Day!

My dear friend, Angela will be soo excited as we have a long standing group argument over the whole Pirates vs. Ninjas debaucle. She says Pirates and her boyfriend says Ninjas. Oh the humanity!

The Ultimate Hangover Cure

Pho

There is no denying it. Pho is the ultimate hangover cure. A HUGE bowl of soup does the body good when you feel like it is going to disown you for whatever it was that you put it through last night.

I like mine with about a gallon or sriracha in it. Mmmmmmmm... *drool*

Aching

Definitely feeling like death today. Up WAY too late. Fancy fiance decided we would stay out till 3 a.m. this morning. Although, his capability to work from home whenever he feels like it is starting to irritate me since I can't do the same.

Hopefully the Doctor will just stay home today. No patients... no need for him to be here. He'll just drive us crazy anyway.

I brought 2 projects with me today... Monty and my crochet hook holder. Although, I can say I have zero motivation to work on either one of them right now... let alone motivation enough to blink.

New Color

It was a little slow at work today, and I needed to get my hair done anyway, so I went to the mall this morning to try a new salon. I print out some pics... shaggy layering... decide on some color... low lights 7ash.

I walk into the salon and here I am sitting in the chair of the most conservative woman I've seen in a salon. Non-funky hair, plain style... judging by the cover, I am a little concerned she won't get my "style." I give her a quick run down as she nods her head. Off she goes to mix color.

Foil, foil, foil, process, rinse, shampoo, rinse, condition, rinse, dry. Wow! I think the color looks great and the cut she did is exactly how I wanted it. Would definitely recommend her.

Woot for new hair!

Monty

Starting up my latest Ravelry project... Monty

I'm using Lion Brands Fun Fur in Sandstone with a size US E needle. Almost finished with the head. Crocheting with eyelast yarn is much harder than knitting with it! This will be my 4th crocheted bear.

Tagged!

I've been tagged for the 6 quirky things meme by Sheknitigans!

The meme:

  1. I have hot coffee, but I LOVE ice coffee.

  2. I love nothing more than a comfy couch, a blanket, knitting, and a movie.

  3. I can answer 95% of any movie question ever asked to me.

  4. "Bitches" is a term of endearment in our group of friends.

  5. I was brought on to my job to do marketing, but I am sitting at the front desk... doing nothing marketing related.

  6. I have 5 tattoos and want more.

Looking Forward

I would give my right arm, my first born child, my second born child, and a three pound bag of gummie bears to be able to crawl in bed and sleep for another 5 hours. I almost believe that staying up late in a bar and not drinking, is worse than staying up late while drinking. The bar scene (aka smoke) always seems to hit me much worse when sober. My eyes are killing me.

Although, Nate did get second place in poker! I think he is finally in the tournament. I gave up a long time ago, now that I've placed six times over. It isn't fun when it gets to be work and a burden of staying up late.

A Crazy World

I just spent the morning watching old episodes of To Catch a Predator while cleaning the house. I must say these guys are a disgrace. I love how they all know it is wrong... and some even say so while chatting online. Yet they still manage to keep at it. That is definate proof of idiocracy at it's finest.

There are soo many people out there... old, young, gay, straight... that just can't separate right from wrong. Many of these men have kids. And kids that are teenagers. I wish they would just stop and think for one second, 'I am taking to someone's daughter... maybe my daughter's friend.' Would they really want their daughter meeting up with some online stranger, alone, in his house?

So wrong... so, soo wrong.

Texas Hold 'Em

Placed 4th last night in the Tuesday game. Now after a 2nd and a 7th, I am definitely in the final tournament. Only a few more weeks to go and then Atlantic City is on my vacation list...

Dreaming

I am constantly dreaming that I am trying to get away from someone, am stuck somewhere, or am trying to tell someone something that they just aren't getting. I am beginning to wonder if the universe is trying to tell me something...

Hours Worked, Wages Lost

After working in the corporate world for the past 10 years I have come to realize that every boss/owner is in it for themself, and themself only.

I'm all, "Hey... you screwed up my paycheck!" Mr. Bossman is all, "Ummm, yeah. We'll touch base on that in a few weeks. Mmmmmkay?"

Headaches of the World, UNITE!

It has come to my attention that every morning when leaving the house for work, I can feel this little irk starting in my temple. You know the one. The one that you know will turn into a full blown migraine in approximately 2 hours. I've come to the conclusion -

Work = Headache

Not the type of headache that is "ooh my head aches... woe is me." I mean the kind that is "anyone who talks to me is going to get their F&^%$@# head bitten off."

However, my cleanse diet seems to be going swimmingly! I've lost 7lbs already. Can't beat that!
