Thinking of Starting Again

We are about 17 days now out from vacation. Milda is on Day 4 of her cleanse and I think I may start one next Monday. You know, one can never start these things on the weekend because with the lack of work, you prey on the fact that you can't eat anything and it drives you crazy. Definitely a better idea to start on a work day because at the very least, you have other things to occupy your mind.

365 Project

After seeing a few of my contacts in Flickr posting 365 pictures, I decided to take a look into it. The 365 Project involves taking a self-portrait everyday for the next 365. As long as the picture is taken by you and includes a part of your body, it qualifies.

I think it's a great idea. Not only does it develop one's photography skills, but you also get to see yourself evolve over a year. Do you look the same at year's end or not?

New Banner and New Items for Sale

Did some reworking to my Etsy shop. I listed 2 new items and added a shop banner that I photoshopped real quick early this morning.

Please go check out my items for sale!

I decided to go with purple and white. I love the brickwork texture.

2009 Brings a Facelift

2009 has brought some ups and downs.

DF has his shop up and running full time. It seems to be doing well and I am proud of his hard work. He is a great business man.

My job ended in February, which is better off since that job wasn't taking me anywhere, anyway. Very poorly run and managed, but either way... I'm glad it's over.

I've been venturing on some new opportunities. I should receive 2 job offers either later this afternoon or by Monday. Some fairly distinct pros and cons of each position to weigh.

Position A: Pros - Great job title, a step up from where I have been recently, tons of responsibility, great staff, fun working environment, can bring puppy to work with me, a real chance to show my ability and skills. Cons - no health insurance, possible low salary if I cannot negotiate higher, longer commute, room for raises but no room for advancement to a higher title.

Position B: Pros - fairly short commute, higher salary, full benefits, nice work environment, my own office, room for advancement and raises. Cons - lower job title, possible lack of enough work, dealing with multiple managers instead of managing myself.

So, as one can see, there is a lot to consider. We will see how it all pans out in the end.

On the knitting scene, I've opened my Etsy shop for NudistaKNITS! I had my first item sold with 12 hours of opening shop. I've recently finished up a ton of dishcloths.

Planning to update more this year. Life just takes it's toll and distracts you from... well, life...

It's been a long while...

First things first, there will be a new addition to the Nudist family. Her name is Kazumi, meaning harmonious beauty. We will call her Zumi for short. She is a Shiba Inu. We pick her up the Friday after Thanksgiving. She will grow to be 20 lbs and around 15-16 inches long.

For Halloween, Nate and I went as Tony and Elivra from Scarface. It was a lot of fun. Got into two bar fights, drank a lot, ate IHOP at 2 a.m., and passed out in our gross hotel room. Can't wait till next year.

I went to Stitches Easy 2008 in Baltimore, MD where my mom's shop had a booth, Strings N' Things. I picked up some great yarn there:

Solo - 1/2 lb apprx 500 yrds - Hot Pink and Yellow

Strings N Things acrylic mohair blend - Denim

Coloratura Yarns - I call it Bruise

Haven't updated in a long time! Busy busy busy. Yesterday was my birthday. Nate threw me a surprise party on Friday. It was soo much fun and he took me to dinner. Hibachi restaurant was great!

Nate's parents gave me this amazing little pink and green fairy. I love it!

About a month ago, Milda came to visit while bringing her sister to the airport. Soo much fun!

Whew!

Haven't posted all week! It has been a little crazy. Working to try and get Baby Coats sweater done and it hasn't progressed because I've been helping fiance with the garage organization. I have the two front pieces done and some of the back.

I also sculpted my first skull for a test fairy. I just wanted to try and see if I could even make something out of clay before I went and bought a ton of supplies.

I think I've Lost My Head

The doctor has been running me around this week. Every 10 minutes, "Katie! Have you finished that yet?" But not only that, about every 15 minutes he gives me a new project. So, as you can tell, I am running a little rampid.

More to post tomorrow...

Quiet Night At Home

Nate and I spent quiet time at home last night. I made spaghetti & meatballs for dinner. We watched TMZ while we ate... that show cracks me up. Some of the things they catch celebrities doing, it is hysterical.

Heidi makes me want to shove my head in an oven, though. That girl is such an airhead. I love it. Cute outfit though...

I just about finished up my crochet hook holder last night... until I ran out of yarn just finishing up the button tab closure. Oh well, I'll just finish it with another yarn.

The Weekend is Not Long Enough

Last week just dragged on, then by the time the weekend came... it was over before I even knew it. I cleaned all day Saturday to get our house in order after our recent move. I am loving our new appartment, though.

I worked on two crochet projects yesterday during football.

Monty now has a head, a body, and one almost completed arm. But I ran out of yarn. So he'll be hibernating until I can find some more.

I also worked on my crochet needle holder. This is much smoother to work on. I only have about 25% left to finish it up. I love the yarn... very cute!

The Steelers had a rough game yesterday. Hopefully they'll be back to winning next week.

HARRRRR

Today is National Talk Like a Pirate Day!

My dear friend, Angela will be soo excited as we have a long standing group argument over the whole Pirates vs. Ninjas debaucle. She says Pirates and her boyfriend says Ninjas. Oh the humanity!

The Ultimate Hangover Cure

Pho

There is no denying it. Pho is the ultimate hangover cure. A HUGE bowl of soup does the body good when you feel like it is going to disown you for whatever it was that you put it through last night.

I like mine with about a gallon or sriracha in it. Mmmmmmmm... *drool*

Aching

Definitely feeling like death today. Up WAY too late. Fancy fiance decided we would stay out till 3 a.m. this morning. Although, his capability to work from home whenever he feels like it is starting to irritate me since I can't do the same.

Hopefully the Doctor will just stay home today. No patients... no need for him to be here. He'll just drive us crazy anyway.

I brought 2 projects with me today... Monty and my crochet hook holder. Although, I can say I have zero motivation to work on either one of them right now... let alone motivation enough to blink.
